"I don't have the strength", "I'll start tomorrow", "I can't afford sport". Excuses - we heard them from everywhere and probably more than once, ourselves, in this way we justified our inactivity. The problem of such an approach is motivation (or rather - its lack), which usually appears at the beginning and very quickly begins to lack it. It is through it, most often, that we return to bad habits and give in the middle of our way. So what can you do to motivate yourself to exercise effectively?
Types of motivation
For the purpose of this article we can distinguish two types of motivation - external and internal. The former is determined by all factors beyond our control. We can mention material goods, praise from others or satisfaction of our partner. The latter is even more important and extremely difficult to maintain. It depends only on us - on our attitude, self-denial and self-satisfaction. Psychologists and dieticians most often work on it.
How to find motivation?
First of all, you have to answer the question: why do you do it? What do you want to achieve? The more tangible and defined the objective, the greater the chance of achieving it. Remember not to "throw your hoe at the sun" and try not to be too strict for yourself. This is where a dietician can help you, who in case of doubt will not only modify your diet and training plan, but also make sure that you believe in yourself anew. One of the most effective ways to regain your motivation is to watch other people's metamorphoses and review your successes and results achieved recently. Pictures before and after, measuring centimetres, viewing the results of research - these are some of the simplest methods that will make you realize that the fight against obesity makes sense.
