Pulneo is an anti-inflammatory and bronchospasmodic drug.
What does Pulneo contain and how does it work?
Fenspyride, which is the active substance of the preparation, blocks the istamine type 1 receptors, i.e. H1 receptors, and has a strong spasmolytic effect of papaverin type. The ability to reduce the production of inflammatory mediators such as free radicals, TNF-alpha, cytokines, prostaglandins and leukotrienes is responsible for the anti-inflammatory effects of the drug. It is also associated with the alleviation of typical inflammatory symptoms, such as swelling and irritation, inhibition of excessive mucus secretion in the bronchial tree, anti-cough action and bronchial systolic prevention.
When to use Pulneo?
The main application of Pulneo is symptomatic treatment during lung and bronchial inflammatory diseases, including coughing and expectoration. Because of the symptomatic treatment, it is important not to delay the use of antibiotics if there is a need to include them in the treatment.
When not to use this preparation?
The contraindications for Pulneo should be clarified before starting to use the preparation. These include allergy to any component of the preparation together with hypersensitivity to it. It is also prohibited to use it in children under the age of two. Pregnant or breast-feeding women should also refrain from taking the preparation.
Dosage of Pulneo
It is important not to exceed the recommended doses, as this will not affect the speed of treatment or the effectiveness of the drug, but may harm life or health. The preparation itself is intended for oral use, administered in the form of a syrup or drops. In case of any doubts related to the use of the preparation, it is necessary to consult a physician.
Dosage of the preparation in the form of oral drops:

Children over 2 years of age: 4 mg/kg body weight per day, i.e. children under 10 kg: 10-20 ml per day; children over 10 kg: 30-60 ml per day.
A measuring tape attached to the package will help you to take the right dose.
The use in children under two years of age is prohibited. It is strongly recommended to take the preparation at the beginning of a meal.
What side effects may occur?
In connection with the use of Pulneo, adverse effects may occur, which occur only in some of all persons consuming the preparation. Side effects include: allergic reactions (erythema, rash, angioedema, permanent discoloration, urticaria), gastrointestinal problems, epigastric pain, increased heart rate, sleepiness, nausea.
However, the expected benefits from the use of Pulneo are, in principle, greater than the damage resulting from adverse reactions.
